Fire Assay Technician

About the Role

SGS is seeking a Fire Assay Technician to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves performing routine analytical techniques related to established Fire Assay procedures. The role requires 0-1 years of experience and reports directly to the Fire Assay Shift Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality and quantity of samples obtained during the complete analysis of Fire Assay samples.
• Understand and safely perform Fire Assay procedures.
• Maintain lead fusion equipment on a daily basis.
• Submit quality silver bead samples to the Wet Chem Laboratory.

Safety and Operational Duties

• Always wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow proper hygiene procedures.
• Maintain a high level of internal management and report all accidents and incidents to the supervisor or management.
• Actively participate in shift activities as requested by supervisors to meet customer needs.
• Report necessary maintenance work to ensure normal operations and maintain a clean work area.
• Ensure all analytical methods are followed according to instructions.

Quality Control and Administration

• Contribute to maintaining proper record keeping and document control systems.
• Keep management informed of any problems within the laboratory and notify them of low inventory levels.
• Attend required training and maintain good relationships with client personnel, government authorities, and community assemblies.

• 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to understand and perform Fire Assay procedures safely and diligently.
• Commitment to safety protocols and quality control.
