About the Role
WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to join a supervision consultancy team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is integral to a large-scale infrastructure development project located approximately 100 km north of the city. The role requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience to ensure the accurate execution and verification of survey works supporting construction activities.
Role Context and Responsibilities
The Land Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out and verifying all survey activities to ensure the precise alignment and positioning of infrastructure works. This includes establishing and maintaining survey control points, benchmarks, and reference markers on site. A key aspect of the role involves verifying contractor survey data, layouts, and setting-out works to ensure strict compliance with project drawings and specifications.
The scope of work encompasses surveys for road networks and associated civil infrastructure. Additionally, the role supports surveying for various multi-utility infrastructure systems, including:
- Potable water networks
- Firefighting systems
- Gas distribution networks
- Stormwater drainage systems
- Sanitary sewage systems
- Power distribution networks (MV & LV)
- Street lighting and telecom infrastructure
- Irrigation and landscape works
The Land Surveyor must ensure the accuracy of levels, alignments, and coordinates throughout construction. Responsibilities also include reviewing contractor survey reports, drawings, and as-built records, and maintaining comprehensive documentation of all survey data, measurements, and site records. Close coordination with Resident Engineers and discipline engineers is essential for the accurate execution of works.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess a Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 5 to 8 years of direct experience in land surveying for infrastructure construction projects is mandatory. Experience specifically in roadworks and multi-utility infrastructure projects is highly valued.
Proficiency with standard surveying equipment, including Total Stations, GPS, and leveling instruments, is required. Previous experience working with engineering consultancy firms in a supervision capacity is preferred.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong attention to detail and an ability to meticulously maintain accurate survey records. Effective communication and coordination skills are necessary to collaborate with project teams and ensure the integrity of survey data.
