About the Role
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, *** is seeking a Senior Manager of Sales to join their team in the Makkah Region, specifically serving the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position focuses on driving group and catering sales opportunities with significant revenue potential.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Manager of Sales will be responsible for proactively soliciting and managing large group and catering opportunities that fall outside the parameters of an Event Booking Center (EBC). This role involves actively up-selling to maximize revenue for each business opportunity and achieving personal and team revenue goals. A key aspect of the position is ensuring that business is properly and timely turned over for effective service delivery, thereby driving customer loyalty through exceptional service experiences.
- Targeting group and catering accounts, markets, or segments with a strong emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
- Partnering with group and catering counterparts to effectively manage business opportunities.
- Responding to incoming group and catering opportunities for the property that are outside the EBC parameters, or handling all opportunities if the property does not participate in an EBC.
- Identifying, qualifying, and soliciting new group and catering business to meet revenue goals.
- Focusing efforts on group and catering accounts with significant sales revenue potential.
- Developing effective group and catering sales plans and actions, including designing, developing, and selling creative catered events.
- Maximizing revenue through up-selling packages and creative food and beverage offerings.
- Understanding the overall market, including competitor strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand, to effectively position sales efforts.
- Closing the best opportunities based on market conditions and property needs, utilizing negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to secure business and negotiate contracts.
Customer Relationship Management
This role requires building and strengthening relationships with existing and new customers to foster future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows. Developing relationships within the community is also essential to expand the customer base for group and catering sales opportunities. The position supports the brand's Service and Relationship Strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience and providing excellent customer service to grow account share.
- Handling complex business with significant revenue potential and customer expectations.
- Executing brand and property Customer Service Standards.
- Participating in and practicing daily service basics of the brand.
- Providing exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty by assisting customers and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
- Serving customers by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate features and services that exceed expectations, while building loyalty to the property and brand.
- Gaining an understanding of the property’s primary target customer and service expectations, serving the customer by understanding their business issues and concerns to offer better business solutions.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
The Senior Manager of Sales will work collaboratively with off-property sales channels, such as EBC, Market Sales, and Strategic Accounts, to ensure coordinated and complementary sales efforts. This role involves managing and developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and effectively utilizing sales resources and administrative support staff.
Additional Duties
Additional responsibilities include utilizing intranet resources, conducting site inspections, creating contracts as required, and executing the operational aspects of booked business, such as generating proposals, writing contracts, and managing customer correspondence.
