About the Accountant Role

SOL Business Solutions is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to executing day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial records within our organization.

Role Overview

The Accountant is responsible for performing all core accounting activities primarily through the Odoo ERP system. This includes supporting monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and applicable regulations, including VAT and e-invoicing requirements. The role also involves the timely delivery of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions, including journal entries, invoices, receipts, and payments, accurately in the Odoo ERP system.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, encompassing invoice processing, payment follow-up, and customer/supplier reconciliations.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring correct and consistent use of the chart of accounts in Odoo.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation entries.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax filings in compliance with ZATCA regulations, including e-invoicing (FATOORA) requirements.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) generated from Odoo.
• Monitor petty cash, employee expense claims, and advances, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Maintain fixed asset records and run depreciation schedules within the ERP system.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• One (1) to four (4) years of accounting experience (maximum of four years).
• Proven hands-on experience with the Odoo ERP system (Accounting/Finance modules) is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Good knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS).
• Familiarity with Saudi VAT and ZATCA requirements.
• SOCPA membership or progress toward a professional certification (SOCPA, CMA, ACCA) is considered a plus.
