About the Role

SAP is seeking an AI Product Expert to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on leveraging AI to drive innovation within the Oil & Gas and Chemicals industries. The position involves collaborating directly with customers to identify high-impact AI use cases within their SAP landscape and working with SAP's Product & Engineering and Customer Services & Delivery teams to build and implement end-to-end solutions. As part of a dedicated AI and industry expert team serving customers across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, you will contribute to a collaborative environment that combines AI expertise, industry knowledge, and regional understanding. Key Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with customers in the Oil, Gas & Energy and Chemicals industries in KSA to identify, prioritize, and frame AI use cases on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
  • Design and implement comprehensive AI solutions, including data pipelines from SAP, model selection and integration using SAP Business AI/BTP services, and UI/process integration.
  • Manage agile cycles from Proof of Concept to Pilot and Production, gather user feedback, and drive the adoption of AI solutions within business processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between Riyadh Lab customers and global SAP Product & Engineering, contributing requirements, identifying gaps, and highlighting patterns for the product roadmap.
  • Develop reusable accelerators such as reference architectures, templates, and best practices for scaling across KSA and the wider region.
  • Translate complex business challenges into clear technical designs and deliver end-to-end, production-ready solutions.
  • Lead discovery sessions, deliver compelling demonstrations, and explain technical trade-offs in business terms to customers.
  • Operate effectively in a forward-deployed role, taking ownership, collaborating closely with global teams, and focusing on creating measurable customer impact.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A strong software engineering background with hands-on experience in Python, Java, or TypeScript.
  • Proven experience with SAP BTP, integrations, and at least one major SAP domain (Finance, Supply Chain, HR, or Public Sector).
  • A solid understanding of data and AI/ML concepts, including data modeling, APIs, and common AI patterns such as forecasting, classification, and copilots/assistants.
  • End-to-end process knowledge of fundamental Oil & Gas processes, including Asset Management, Finance, Procurement, and Logistics across Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream operations.
  • End-to-end process knowledge of fundamental Chemicals processes, such as Product Lifecycle Management, Production Planning, and Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • Familiarity with the utilities market, its evolution, industry-specific challenges, and SAP's industry portfolio.
  • Confidence in customer-facing and partner-facing engagements, including leading discovery workshops, delivering demos, managing stakeholders, and articulating technical trade-offs in business language.
  • Comfort operating as a "forward-deployed" engineer with a high degree of ownership, tolerance for ambiguity, and a collaborative approach with global teams, driven by customer impact.
  • Experience working with local customers and partners is considered a plus.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time, regular position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within the Riyadh Region. Expected travel is between 0-10%.
