About the Area Manager Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia (ex-Souq) is seeking an Area Manager to join their operations team in Riyadh. This full-time position offers the opportunity to gain experience leading a diverse team and understanding the complexities of global operations. The role involves ensuring operational efficiency and meeting demand in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Area Manager will be responsible for:

• Promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing within the team and across the operational site.
• Analyzing performance and implementing corrective actions to maintain high levels of quality and productivity, ensuring business objectives are met across all shifts.
• Supporting and leading a team, handling administrative tasks, and fostering a strong team culture.
• Analyzing performance data and suggesting process improvements to optimize work and enhance customer service.
• Collaborating with other managers to standardize shift processes.

A Day in the Life

This role operates on a shift-based schedule at an operational site in Riyadh. The primary focus will be on maintaining safety standards and monitoring process efficiency. Daily tasks include routine team management, operational duties, addressing individual escalations, engaging in process improvement work, and participating in operational contingency planning. Collaboration with colleagues across different teams and external partners is essential to meet customer demands and targets. This involves analyzing data and performance metrics with business area leaders and discussing operational aspects of technical improvements with engineers.

Basic Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in employee and performance management.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or a minimum of 2 years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Capability to push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.
• Proficiency in English language communication, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
