Business Development Manager

About the Role

DAR Engineering, a leading design and engineering consulting organization in Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, focuses on driving growth and expanding the company's market presence across Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region. The successful candidate will be an engineering professional with a strong consulting background, capable of identifying and securing new business opportunities.

Role Context and Objectives

The Business Development Manager will focus on securing new opportunities across building design, infrastructure design projects, and energy (power & distribution). This involves building long-term relationships with clients, developers, government entities, and strategic partners. The role requires combining technical credibility with commercial acumen to bridge DAR Engineering's capabilities with client needs across all project lifecycle stages, from planning and concept design through detailed design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in building design, infrastructure design, and energy (power & distribution) projects within Saudi Arabia and the GCC region.
• Develop and execute the business development strategy in alignment with DAR Engineering's growth objectives and target sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, government entities, PMO/PMC firms, contractors, and other strategic stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, upcoming tenders, mega/giga-project pipelines, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Lead client engagement throughout the pursuit lifecycle, from initial approach and capability presentations to proposal submission and contract negotiation.
• Collaborate with technical, design, and engineering teams to ensure proposals accurately reflect project scope, technical approach, and value proposition.
• Support the positioning of DAR Engineering across all project stages, including planning, concept design, schematic design, detailed design, and construction supervision phases.
• Represent DAR Engineering at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen brand visibility and market positioning.
• Coordinate with the Bid & Tendering, Marketing, and Technical departments to develop client-focused proposals and presentations.
• Track and report on the business development pipeline, win rates, and revenue targets to senior management.
• Provide market intelligence and client feedback to support strategic decision-making and service offering development.
• Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions in coordination with legal, finance, and senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 12 years of experience in business development, preferably within an engineering consulting environment.
• Proven track record in identifying and securing new business opportunities in the building design, infrastructure design, and energy sectors.
• Strong understanding of market trends and project pipelines in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including developers, government entities, and strategic partners.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
