Omrania is seeking a dedicated Civil Inspector to join its team in Riyadh for a contract-based role. The Role of Civil Inspector

The Civil Inspector will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of civil construction activities within building projects in Riyadh. This contract position requires a meticulous professional to oversee site conditions, materials, and construction processes, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications, approved documents, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect site conditions prior to construction to verify compatibility with designed permanent works and identify any obstructions.
  • Photograph, document, and record the condition of existing properties, utilities, and structures potentially affected by construction activities.
  • Ensure adequate protection of existing structures, properties, utilities, and landscaping throughout the construction period.
  • Review materials, equipment, and products delivered to site for compliance with approved submittals, samples, and specifications, reporting any non-conformance.
  • Verify that all materials are properly handled, stored, and protected according to specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Inspect temporary and permanent works to ensure construction is carried out in compliance with Contract Documents, approved shop drawings, and technical submittals.
  • Prepare and maintain daily site logs, inspection reports, test records, and documentation of work executed, in accordance with the Contract Administration Procedures Manual.
  • Monitor site safety practices and construction progress, reporting any safety concerns or deviations to appropriate parties.
  • Assist in the inspection of completed works and preparation of punch lists.
  • Monitor and support start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager in support of project objectives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in civil construction inspection within building projects, preferably gained in a consultant-led environment.

Essential Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Strong reporting and communication skills to effectively convey inspection findings and project status.

This is a contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will join a project-focused team, contributing their expertise to ensure the highest standards of civil construction inspection and project delivery.
