Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and control all cost-related activities for a Runway/Airfield/Airport project.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, MEP, and airfield works based on project specifications.
• Support budget preparation and provide cost inputs during project planning and tendering.
• Track actual project expenditures against budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze cost trends, identify variances, and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other teams to ensure alignment of cost management with project execution.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in cost engineering or commercial roles.

Job Summary:
As a Cost Engineer, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing project costs, ensuring compliance with the approved budget while preparing comprehensive financial and technical reports related to cost tracking and efficiency improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review project cost plans and budgets.
• Monitor actual expenditures against the approved budget and identify variances.
• Analyze cost discrepancies and issue periodic reports to management.
• Review change orders and ensure their impact is reflected in the project budget.
• Prepare financial forecasts and monthly project reports.
• Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and site teams to ensure accurate financial data.
• Support management in preparing financial proposals and future project estimates.
• Contribute to the development of cost control policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical), Project Management.
• 0-2 years of experience in cost control or project management.
• Proficient in project management software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Strong financial analysis skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Valid membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is required.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.

We are currently involved in a strategic project with Ma’aden to develop a new gold mine and processing facility, contributing to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and Ma’aden’s 2040 Strategic Objectives. This crucial role will be based in Ar Rjum, KSA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation and Budget Development: Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of the mining project including exploration, development, extraction, processing, and reclamation.
• Capital and Operating Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs related to mining equipment, infrastructure, labor, materials, and consumables.
• Financial Modeling and Feasibility Analysis: Conduct economic evaluations to assess project viability.
• Tendering and Contract Management: Assist in preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
• Cost Tracking and Variance Analysis: Analyze variances and implement corrective actions.
• Risk and Contingency Management: Identify financial risks and develop contingency plans.
• Change Order Evaluation: Assess financial impacts of design changes and process accordingly.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare financial reports and forecasts for stakeholders.
• Procurement Support: Support procurement activities and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
• Regulatory and Environmental Cost Compliance: Monitor costs associated with environmental permits and compliance.
• Coordination with Multidisciplinary Teams: Collaborate closely with geologists, engineers, and project managers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field; Master’s Degree or advanced certifications are preferred.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are advantageous.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in cost estimation and management within the mining industry, particularly with gold mining projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient with cost management software and knowledgeable about mining operations.
