About the Internship

AWS EMEA SARL (Saudi Arabia Branch) is offering a Data Center Technician Internship in Riyadh. This 3-month, full-time internship is designed as a potential pathway to full-time employment, with strong-performing interns considered for a full-time Data Center Technician position based on available roles and business needs. Interns will work as part of the Operations team, focusing on the maintenance and upkeep of data center infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities

As a Data Center Technician Intern, you will provide infrastructure-related support to internal teams, resolving tickets related to hardware and networking. This role involves both independent work and team collaboration. Key responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting server hardware alongside experienced AWS technicians.
• Meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for assigned trouble tickets.
• Shadowing AWS technicians during network troubleshooting to develop diagnostic skills.
• Replacing media (Solid State Drives and Hard Disk Drives) according to AWS Data Tech guidance.
• Performing regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, and other components) under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Interacting with third-party vendors and contractors on site.

Learning and Development

Beyond hardware and network repair, you will learn equipment installation, documentation creation, solution innovation, and complex problem-solving within the data center environment. The internship provides exposure to diagnosing and repairing servers and networks that support AWS operations for millions of customers. Mentors and teammates will support your growth and skill development.

Internship Structure and Schedule

This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) for three consecutive months, starting in summer 2027. The position requires daily on-site reporting. Intern schedules are typically day shifts, Sunday through Thursday. Candidates should be aware that a full-time Data Center Technician position may involve day, evening, or weekend shifts and on-call rotations, and willingness to commit to shift work upon transitioning to a full-time role is required.

About the Team

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This includes supporting AWS data centers and all associated servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, collaborating to maintain high standards for safety and security while providing infrastructure capacity for customers.
