About the Role: Medical Advisor, Immunology

AbbVie is seeking a Medical Advisor, Immunology to join their team in Makkah Province, specifically in Jeddah or Riyadh. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of experience and involves serving as the medical and scientific expert for assigned products and therapeutic areas within the affiliate. The Medical Advisor will provide medical and scientific guidance to key customers, engage in scientific exchange, and develop professional relationships with External Experts (EEs).

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate as a brand team member, contributing to overall strategy and execution.
• Provide medical and scientific input into marketing strategies and key commercial initiatives.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned products and therapeutic areas through continuous learning and participation in relevant scientific events.
• Offer expert medical and scientific advice for assigned products, including responding to scientific information requests and ensuring accuracy of medical department dossiers.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with External Experts and academic centers, coordinating advisory boards and discussion forums.
• Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals.
• Screen scientific literature and conference information, developing summaries of key messages for internal use.
• Conduct training for sales forces and other departments, developing and updating training materials.
• Design and implement clinical research projects, such as Phase IV studies, post-marketing activities, and epidemiological surveys.
• Oversee the review, approval, and conduct of Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS).
• Support the Clinical Research Department in managing clinical studies, including protocol review and investigator identification.
• Review and prepare promotional and non-promotional materials, ensuring medical and scientific accuracy and compliance with AbbVie policies and local regulations.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, and AbbVie policies.
• Serve as a scientific interface and resource for healthcare professionals, institutions, External Experts, and professional associations regarding AbbVie products.
• Provide specialist medical and scientific strategic input and operational support for core activities such as local clinical research, HCP interactions, data communication, educational initiatives, and patient safety.

Internal and External Interactions

The Medical Advisor will engage with a broad network of internal and external stakeholders to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Internal contacts include in-field and brand team members, affiliate R&D personnel (Medical Director, Medical Operations, Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance), Marketing and Sales, Market Access, Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and OEC teams. External interactions involve healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, pharmacists), research investigators, thought leaders, scientific and medical societies, hospitals, other healthcare providers, payers, and local regulatory authorities.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience. The role requires a strong medical and scientific background to effectively represent the affiliate's expertise for assigned products and therapeutic areas. A comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment is essential.
