About the Senior Design Engineer Electrical C&I Role

Sulzer is seeking a Senior Design Engineer Electrical C&I to join its team in Riyadh. This role is integral to ensuring the reliability, optimization, and compliance of control systems and instrumentation within the company's operations. The position supports the design of centrifugal pumps and components, requiring the preparation of detailed engineering studies, calculations, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and documentation to meet customer and regulatory standards. Through technical expertise and collaboration, this role aims to enhance equipment performance and contribute to Sulzer's mission of delivering innovative fluid engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate engineering electrical drawings, Bills of Materials, and specifications using CAD software (EPLAN & AutoCAD) to facilitate pump manufacturing.
• Perform and validate detailed design calculations to ensure designs meet customer requirements, safety, and quality standards.
• Design and develop customized pump components and assemblies based on customer specifications and company standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales and Tendering, Project Management, and Manufacturing, to support project execution and address technical challenges.
• Supervise and review the work of design engineers and drafters to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.
• Adhere to strict schedule deadlines and ensure timely delivery of all engineering tasks and deliverables.
• Participate in order reviews, design meetings, and administrative functions to support effective project management.
• Contribute to process improvements and uphold Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and company quality standards in all tasks.
• Participate in customer meetings and site visits to ensure customer satisfaction and provide technical alignment.
• Support and collaborate with other engineering facilities and divisions within the Global Sulzer Organization to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. CAD or Lean certification is considered an advantage.
• 5–8 years of relevant work experience in electrical and mechanical design environments.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD design using EPLAN (AutoCAD is a minimum requirement), with solid experience in Teamcenter and SAP.
• Sound knowledge of electrical drafting, manufacturing processes, and detailed calculations for pump components and assemblies.
• Familiarity with LEAN principles, EHS standards, and order execution and handling processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities, excellent time management, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
