About the Role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an experienced SIE Bid Manager to lead the development of a long-term support proposal for the SIE system. This role involves managing the Airbus ‘Maturity Gate’ process to ensure a comprehensive and timely submission to the customer. The SIE Bid Manager will be responsible for preparing and submitting the bid, coordinating workshops, and presenting to the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and Business Group (BG) to capture customer requirements for a 15-year support period. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong stakeholder management skills, a deep understanding of integrated systems, and support/maintenance operations within a technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the bid process, define the bid strategy, structure the bid, and consolidate all inputs from the cross-functional team.
  • Support the Sales department in developing a competitive offer and pricing strategy, informed by an understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Drive and challenge the internal multi-discipline Bid Team (including Program Line, Portfolio, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Commercial, Procurement, and Legal) with a customer-centric approach to deliver winning and saleable offers on time and to the required quality.
  • Perform overall bid management activities in strict compliance with the Airbus D&S process, encompassing sales support, project risk management, and lessons learned analysis.
  • Provide support to the Programme, Contract & Commercial, and Sales Departments during the negotiation phase.
  • Ensure the basic proposal, including both Technical and Commercial aspects, is prepared for internal Airbus Maturity Gate (MG) and Review & Approval Committee (RMC) process steps by July of the following year, prior to the August holiday season.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Mandatory English language proficiency.
  • Arabic language skills are strongly advised.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Bid or Campaign Management position within relatable industries or companies, holding a senior role in creating and consolidating coherent bids across technical/support and commercial domains.
  • Strong background in Project Management with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to schedule.
  • A Project Management qualification (*, PMP, APMP) is preferred.
  • Understanding of the SIE business domain, characterized by high technical complexity, ideally with good knowledge of integrated systems and Support and Maintenance.
