Job Purpose:
The Assistant Commercial Manager is a key member of the Commercial Shared Services team, responsible for providing cross-functional commercial and contractual support to all operating divisions of the construction company. This role works closely with the Commercial Manager – Shared Services to ensure the accurate administration of contracts, support in the preparation of cost reports, and assist in the commercial risk management across the organization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the Commercial Manager in overseeing commercial aspects of projects across all divisions.
  • Assist in the administration of contracts, including the review and interpretation of tender documents, agreements, and contract terms.
  • Prepare and verify interim payment certificates for suppliers and subcontractors in compliance with contract terms.
  • Assist in compiling and reviewing monthly cost reports, project expenditure, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Provide support in the evaluation of variations, claims, additional works, and changes for inclusion in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with divisional teams to ensure consistent application of commercial standards and controls.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and governance across all commercial activities.
  • Follow company QA/QC protocols in all commercial documentation and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 1–5 years of relevant commercial or contract administration experience in a construction environment.
  • At least 2 years of Middle East experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Candy Software (CCS); minimum 1 year of hands-on experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of standard methods of measurement (*, SMM7, NRM, CESMM).
  • Understanding of major forms of contract (FIDIC, NEC, JCT).
  • Committed to meeting tight deadlines and willing to go the extra mile to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability in supporting key commercial functions.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working under minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
