About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a dedicated Machinist-1 to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to supporting machining and finishing operations for gas turbine components. The role involves executing various processes accurately and safely, including post-braze inspection, EDM, steam cleaning, grit blast preparation, vision inspection, coating polishing, and laser hole clearing.

This position plays a significant role in driving Lean implementation across the production line. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong Lean behaviors, actively participate in problem-solving, maintain 5S standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and overall productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform machining and operate equipment such as EDM, MKG, and other CNC and auto polisher machines in strict accordance with approved work instructions, process specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, quality forms, technical documentation, and engineering drawings to ensure precise process execution.
  • Accurately record and maintain all required process and inspection data.
  • Safely and effectively set up, operate, and monitor CNC, EDM, laser, polishing, and inspection equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of parts before and after machining, cleaning, polishing, and inspection processes to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Adhere to Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to ensure consistency, quality, safety, and efficient line flow.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with 5S standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding and consistent application of Lean principles in all daily work activities.
  • Perform grit blasting operations as required.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement in areas such as safety, quality, cycle time, process flow, and waste reduction.
  • Support initiatives to improve standard work, line organization, visual management, and process discipline to strengthen overall Lean implementation.
  • Contribute to team efforts focused on improving line performance, operational efficiency, and overall shop productivity.
  • Work within established takt time and standard process flow expectations to meet production goals.
  • Utilize shop floor systems and interfaces, including ELM and SmartShop, as necessary.
  • Comply with all company quality policies, safety requirements, applicable procedures, and standard work guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Possess a Diploma, technical college degree, or equivalent hands-on experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in CNC machining, EDM, laser machining, finishing, or related industrial manufacturing operations.
