About the Role

Weidmüller Middle East is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join its team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to driving sales and business development for Weidmüller's product range, with a specific focus on hazardous area solutions. Weidmüller is a global leader in industrial connectivity, supporting customers in power, signal, and data applications, and is recognized for its expertise in hazardous area solutions. The Saudi Arabian facility in Dammam is involved in the manufacturing and assembly of customized hazardous area solutions, including Instrument Junction Boxes, Electrical Junction Boxes, Local Control Stations, Relay Panels, Customized Motor Control Panels, and Solar Combiner Boxes. The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for expanding market presence, cultivating client relationships, and providing technical support within key industries across the Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet and exceed sales targets for Weidmüller products and solutions in the Saudi Arabian market, with a focus on hazardous area products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders at client organizations, including consultants and EPC contractors involved in hazardous area projects.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and projects within key industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Power Generation (especially those with hazardous zones), Water & Wastewater, and heavy manufacturing.
  • Participate in local trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to promote Weidmüller's brand and offerings.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, offering expert advice and solutions for industrial application challenges, particularly concerning hazardous area solutions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical workshops for clients, highlighting the features, benefits, and certifications (*, ATEX, IECEx) of Weidmüller's hazardous area and industrial automation portfolio.
  • Collaborate with factory production and engineering teams to understand product capabilities and certifications, and to relay customer feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and activity plans for management review.
  • Utilize CRM software for managing customer interactions, tracking sales progress, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years of relevant experience in sales engineering, preferably within the industrial automation or electrical components sector.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Proficiency in providing technical support and solutions.
