About the Laboratory Chemist Role

VEOLIA is seeking a Laboratory Chemist to join its team in Jeddah. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 years of experience looking to contribute to ecological transformation within the water treatment sector. As a Laboratory Chemist, you will perform essential laboratory functions to support the business operations and ensure the quality of water treatment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory activities, including water analysis, and the calibration of laboratory and engineering instruments, maintaining accurate calibration records.
• Prepare chemical solutions, including calibration and standardization solutions, for laboratory and external use.
• Perform chemical and biological water analysis according to standard procedures, reporting results accurately and within required timeframes.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including chemicals, reagents, and equipment, and monitor their expiry dates.
• Supervise the proper disposal of laboratory waste.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative experiments on chemical and biological parameters to assess and ensure product performance.
• Generate accurate and professional laboratory reports to meet the demands of the Service and Sales business.
• Fulfill business demands through diligent execution of laboratory tasks.

QHSE and Compliance

• Adhere to and implement QHSE policies and ISO procedures.
• Follow all safety rules and coach colleagues on safe practices.
• Ensure compliance with road traffic rules when commuting to and from work.
• Uphold VEOLIA’s specific sustainable development commitments.
• Read and understand safety moments, alerts, and other information shared by the HSE Team.
• Obtain necessary safety inductions, LMRA, and PPE before visiting any site, factory, or warehouse.
• Maintain office safety, including proper file management, securing electrical cables, and reporting any electrical issues.
• Report any instances of stress, fatigue, harassment, or bullying to HR/HSE.
• Comply with applicable ethics and legislation as outlined in the VEOLIA Code of Conduct policy.

Qualifications and Experience

This role requires 0-1 years of experience in a laboratory setting. Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of chemical and biological analysis, laboratory procedures, and instrument calibration. A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, health, safety, and environment (QHSE) is essential.
