About the Underwriting Specialist Role

Jeddah Airports is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time position involves a comprehensive approach to risk assessment and management within the organization. The Underwriting Specialist will play a crucial role in evaluating and mitigating potential financial exposures for Jeddah Airports.

Core Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Underwriting Specialist include:

  • Evaluating and assessing Jeddah Airports' risk exposure by analyzing its operations, facilities, assets, and potential liabilities.
  • Applying underwriting guidelines and industry best practices to assess insurability and associated risks.
  • Analyzing historical loss data, claims experience, and loss prevention measures to determine risk factors and calculate appropriate premium rates.
  • Coordinating with claims adjusters and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient processing of insurance claims.
  • Providing an underwriting perspective during the claims settlement process.

Policy Development and Compliance

This role also entails the development and implementation of underwriting policies and guidelines for various insurance products. A key aspect of the position is ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. The Underwriting Specialist will also undertake other job-related responsibilities as directed by their Line Manager.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in insurance underwriting and risk assessment, typically ranging from 2 to 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting guidelines, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
