About the Role
GE HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team in Khamīs Mushayţ, 'Asir, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our sold and existing products at customer sites. You will be responsible for managing all resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the continued success of GE HealthCare's operations in the region.
This position operates within a well-defined framework, requiring adherence to specific operational tasks to achieve defined end results. You will be accountable for the quality of your own work and will receive direct operations supervision and follow prescribed work instructions. The role involves a combination of technical expertise, customer interaction, and administrative duties, all aimed at maintaining high standards of service and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all models specific to a modality in the assigned area, ensuring their operational readiness.
- Perform total system-level troubleshooting on complex multi-symptom problems, addressing both electronic and mechanical issues.
- Engage in daily interface with doctors and technicians to discuss equipment status and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide training to others where necessary and identify sales opportunities to communicate to the account team.
- Assist in the growth and direction of GE HealthCare's business within your geographic area.
- Manage and control costs associated with warranty and planned maintenance service contracts.
- Responsibly complete all administrative tasks on time, ensuring timely documentation of Field Modification Instructions (FMIs) and Planned Maintenance (PM) inspections for assigned accounts.
- Play a leading role in the installation of complex and multifunctional rooms, sharing best practices.
- Maintain effective quality systems and programs compliant with ISO 9001 standards, adhering to the GE Service Quality Policy Statement.
- Deal tactfully and effectively with differences of opinion, influencing rather than directing customer interactions.
- Perform installations, planned maintenance, FMIs, and corrective maintenance on trained products.
- Fix issues effectively using appropriate documentation and tools, with support from online experts when needed.
- Focus on customer impact and aim to resolve issues effectively on the first visit.
- Provide basic customer relationship management.
- Be available for on-call duties as per customer contract requirements.
- Carefully manage material consumption and work to address root cause issues and minimize costs, utilizing LLFRU (Long Lead First Replacement Unit) where applicable.
- Utilize applicable digital tools that support productivity initiatives, such as Smart PM and proactive alerts (onwatch).
- Discuss cost-effective solutions with support engineers.
- Maintain a consistently positive approach to customers, ensuring they are aware of and have a positive perception of GE's high-quality service.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Use applicable digital platforms efficiently.
- Ensure the connectivity of responsible systems.
- Complete all Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) trainings on time.
- Ensure the quality of Service Requests (SRs) and PM checklists.
- Support Service Sales with contract renewals, option and upgrade opportunities, and other contract-related initiatives.
- Ensure timely dispatch closure and completion of all field modification instructions (FMIs) within the prescribed timeframe.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and escalating process and product quality gaps, and providing solutions when possible.
- Comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within defined deadlines.
- Immediately identify and report any customer quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
- Strong technical analytical skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Field Services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a specific modality or multi-modalities; competence in at least one modality (MRI, CT, PET/CT, Nuclear, Xray, and Angiography) is a plus.
- Ability to be sought by others for guidance and advice.
- Proficiency in English.
- Maintain high work standards and a focus on quality.
- Ability to plan and organize work effectively.
- Readiness to travel within Saudi Arabia and abroad for training and business purposes.
