About the Delivery Project Director Role

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Delivery Project Director (DEL 1) to oversee the successful delivery of critical projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring projects align with the company's strategic objectives and uphold operational excellence. The Project Director will set the overall project direction, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion, and will be accountable for all project disciplines, compliance, and safety standards. This position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing large-scale, complex programs within demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and foster a strong health, safety, and wellbeing culture throughout the project, including conducting safety investigations, inspections, and audits.
  • Role model leadership behaviors in line with Qiddiya Values.
  • Motivate and inspire a high-performance culture through clear direction, continuous feedback, recognition of exceptional performance, and fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Provide visible, inclusive leadership, ensuring effective succession planning, exploring recruitment and retention strategies, and offering mentoring and sponsorship to staff.
  • Lead collaboration and manage interfaces across design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities to deliver completed assets in accordance with approved designs, cost plans, and milestone dates.
  • Work closely with other directors and the senior management team to maximize project efficiencies across all project facets, including integration, interfaces, and interdependencies with the wider program to enable seamless construction phasing.
  • Prepare and present project status and updates to Qiddiya Control committees and relevant groups.
  • Lead project review processes to ensure effective progress reporting and maintain in-depth knowledge of all project elements.
  • Work effectively with commercial, contracts, and cost teams to facilitate successful project delivery while managing project budgets and financials.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate delivery risk exposure to the project by ensuring adequate controls are identified and applied.
  • Leverage opportunities within peer groups for collaboration, sharing lessons learned, and driving innovation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience as a Project Manager, with a proven ability to lead complex projects from initiation to closure.
  • Diverse experience working within mega/large-scale complex design and construction programs across private and/or government sectors.
  • Expert understanding of commercial aspects and contracts.
  • Demonstrated track record in making strategic, high-impact decisions that drive change or contribute to project success.
  • Significant experience in the development, implementation, and management of business systems, including policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
