About the Director - Commercial Partnerships Role

Qiddiya, located in Riyadh Province, is seeking a Director - Commercial Partnerships for a full-time position. This role is responsible for leading all commercial activities, including partnerships, sponsorships, retail, and revenue generation, to ensure the achievement of financial targets and the integration of commercial opportunities across programming and operations.

Revenue Strategy and Performance

The Director will develop and execute the overall commercial strategy, aligning it with asset objectives and financial targets. This includes defining revenue models across various streams such as sponsorships, retail, F&B, ticketing, and activations. The role involves leading revenue planning, forecasting, and target setting in coordination with Finance & Performance, and owning the delivery of revenue targets. Continuous optimization of revenue streams through pricing, product mix, and commercial innovation is a key aspect of this responsibility.

Partnerships and Sponsorships Management

Developing and managing a structured sponsorship and partnership strategy aligned with programming and marketing plans is crucial. This includes identifying, negotiating, and securing high-value agreements, and designing sponsorship packages in collaboration with Programming and Marketing teams. The role requires managing relationships with sponsors and partners to ensure contractual obligations are met and value is realized, while also driving long-term strategic partnerships. Sourcing, securing, and managing both commercial and non-commercial partners, as well as maintaining relationships with key government and cultural partners, are also key responsibilities.

Retail, F&B, and Commercial Operations Oversight

This position oversees all retail, F&B, and commercial activations across the site. Responsibilities include defining the commercial mix, tenant strategy, and allocation of retail and F&B spaces. Performance management of operators and vendors to ensure quality, compliance, and revenue delivery is essential. Ensuring commercial offerings align with cultural programming and visitor experience, and monitoring sales performance to optimize operations, are also key duties.

Integration with Programming and Experience

The Director will work closely with Programming to embed commercial opportunities within cultural experiences, ensuring that programming supports revenue generation through activations, sponsorships, and retail integration. Aligning commercial activities with visitor flow, dwell time, and engagement strategies, while balancing commercial objectives with cultural integrity and experience quality, is a core function. Ensuring commercial partnerships and revenue initiatives are fully integrated into cultural programming is paramount.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates should possess strong commercial and revenue generation experience, with a background in sponsorships, partnerships, and retail operations. Essential skills include negotiation and contract management, the ability to link commercial strategy with experience delivery, and financial and performance management capabilities. Experience overseeing retail, F&B, or commercial operations within large-scale venues, events, or destinations is required. A strong understanding of commercial mix, tenant strategy, operator management, revenue generation through on-ground activations, and experience in large-scale events or destination-based environments are necessary. The ability to link visitor experience with revenue generation, coupled with a strong understanding of revenue planning, forecasting, performance tracking, and commercial KPIs, is vital. Proven experience leading commercial teams and managing cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to operate in fast-paced, complex environments, is expected. Experience working with government entities and large organizations is preferred.
