Overview of the role
The legal specialist is responsible for providing practical legal support to the business through drafting and reviewing contracts and legal documents, conducting legal research, supporting compliance and governance, and managing case files, claims, and documents. The role aims to ensure the legality of transactions, reduce risks, and expedite the contracting cycle in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the Kingdom and the company's policies.

The legal specialist is responsible for providing practical legal support to the business through drafting and reviewing contracts and legal documents, conducting legal research, supporting compliance and governance, and managing case files, claims, and documents. The role aims to ensure the legality of transactions, reduce risks, and expedite the contracting cycle in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the Kingdom and the company's policies.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Drafting and Reviewing Contracts and Documents: Preparing, reviewing, and updating contracts and agreements of various types (services, supply, confidentiality agreements, memoranda of understanding, leases, contracts, etc.).
- Daily Legal Advisory Support: Responding to operational legal inquiries from various departments within the scope of authority, and escalating complex issues to the legal consultant/director when necessary.
- Governance and Compliance: Supporting internal governance procedures by ensuring the completion and approval of documents in accordance with authorities (DOA) and archiving them in the approved manner.
- Supporting Cases, Claims, and Disputes: Supporting cases and claims by gathering documents, organizing evidence, managing files, and following up on deadlines and statutory time limits.
- Managing Legal Documents and Records: Managing the archiving of contracts and legal records and updating the contract register (Contract Register).
- Internal Collaboration and Process Improvement: Coordinating with procurement, finance, investment, human resources, projects, and operations to ensure legal requirements are met throughout the contracting cycle.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Law/Systems or equivalent (professional certificates are an additional advantage).
- Experience: Typically 5–8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a corporate/investment group environment.
- High proficiency in Arabic: In legal drafting and proficiency in English (a strong advantage for bilingual contracts and correspondence).
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications: and knowledge of contract management systems is an additional advantage.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Integrity, confidentiality, and high professionalism with a commitment to work ethics.
