About the Role
German Technical Services Co. (GTS) is seeking a Sales Engineer specializing in Fire Fighting Systems to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, fostering client relationships, and delivering technically compliant fire protection solutions for diverse projects including commercial, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, residential, and infrastructure developments. The position requires a strong combination of technical expertise in fire protection, proven sales capabilities, and effective customer relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for Fire Fighting & Fire Protection Systems within assigned territories and target sectors.
- Promote company solutions for a comprehensive range of fire protection systems, including Fire Sprinkler Systems, Hydrant & Hose Reel Systems, Fire Pumps, Foam Systems, Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems, Clean Agent Systems (FM200 / Novec / IG Systems), and Water Mist Systems, alongside other related fire safety solutions.
- Conduct site visits, engage in client meetings, and deliver technical presentations to consultants, contractors, developers, facility managers, and end-users.
- Review tender documents, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, and project requirements to ensure accurate proposal development.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and compliance statements.
- Coordinate with engineering and estimation teams to ensure accurate costing and timely technical submissions.
- Ensure all proposed solutions comply with relevant standards such as NFPA, Civil Defense, UL/FM, SBC, and specific project specifications.
- Follow up on submitted quotations, negotiate terms and conditions, and close sales opportunities.
- Maintain and nurture strong, long-term relationships with consultants, contractors, project owners, and procurement teams.
- Track market developments, competitor activities, and upcoming projects to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets while maintaining profitability objectives.
- Maintain an up-to-date CRM/sales pipeline and provide regular sales reports to management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Fire Fighting / Fire Protection Sales, with preference for candidates with experience in the KSA or GCC market.
- Strong technical knowledge of Fire Fighting Systems and a deep understanding of NFPA Standards.
- Proven experience in handling tenders, reviewing BOQs, coordinating estimations, and preparing technical submittals.
- A solid understanding of the consultant approval process, Civil Defense requirements, and the project sales cycle.
- A demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving business development initiatives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, a basic understanding of AutoCAD, and experience with CRM systems.
- A valid driving license is preferred.
Required Skills
- Expertise in Fire Fighting Systems and Fire Protection Systems.
- Strong Sales Capability and effective Customer Relationship Management.
- Knowledge of specific systems including Fire Sprinkler Systems, Hydrant & Hose Reel Systems, Fire Pumps, Foam Systems, Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems, Clean Agent Systems (FM200 / Novec / IG Systems), and Water Mist Systems.
- Proficiency in conducting Technical Presentations.
- Skilled in Tender Document Review, BOQ Review, and preparation of Technical and Commercial Proposals, Quotations, and Compliance Statements.
- Experience in Engineering Coordination and Estimation Coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA Standards, Civil Defense Requirements, UL/FM Standards, and SBC Standards.
- Effective Sales Negotiation and Sales Closing techniques.
- Ability to track Market Development and Competitor Activities.
- Proven ability in Sales Targets Achievement and meeting Profitability Objectives.
- Proficiency with CRM Systems and Sales Pipeline Management, including Sales Reporting.
- Background in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering.
- Excellent Communication Skills, Negotiation Skills, and Presentation Skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a basic understanding of AutoCAD.
- Established network with consultants, contractors, developers, and facility management companies.
- Knowledge of UL/FM approved systems and international fire safety standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate them into successful projects.
- Demonstrated self-driven, target-oriented approach, and capability for independent work.
