About Tahaluf and the Senior Conference Producer Role

Tahaluf is Saudi Arabia's largest B2B live and on-demand events organiser, established as a joint venture between Informa PLC, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP), and the Events Investment Fund (EIF). The company is recognised for its significant impact on the global events sector, having delivered record-breaking events such as LEAP, Cityscape, Black Hat MEA, and CPHI Middle East. Tahaluf is seeking a Senior Conference Producer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position will focus on the Kingdom of Gaming, the region’s leading gaming marketplace.

Role Overview

The Senior Conference Producer will contribute to an ambitious and committed team. This role requires an individual who is knowledgeable about the fast-paced industry, confident in engaging with expert speakers globally, and adept at presenting the opportunity to showcase knowledge at Tahaluf's events. Meticulous organisational skills are essential for managing speakers and the show order on-site. A background in technology or gaming events is a prerequisite for this position.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Conference Producer will be responsible for the comprehensive management of conference programmes, market research, and speaker engagement. Core duties include:

  • Producing high-level, industry-relevant conference programmes.
  • Conducting thorough market research with industry professionals and target audiences.
  • Engaging with recommended speakers and confirming their attendance.
  • Assisting with onsite event duties as required, which may involve extended working hours.
  • Mentoring other conference producers within the team.

Detailed Conference Production Duties

  • Liaise with key professionals, institutions, and companies in the production of conference programmes.
  • Ensure the speaker database is updated to provide current and accurate speaker lists and files for event management.
  • Prepare and communicate creative brief documents to the Marketing team.
  • Assist in providing leads to the sponsorship team and attend sales meetings as appropriate.
  • Conduct post-show analysis of the event, including job title analysis.

Market Research and Industry Engagement

  • Develop new conference ideas and programme content through meetings and tele-research with key experts.
  • Collaborate with the Exhibition Director and other sales team members to generate ideas for enhancing the conference portfolio.
  • Identify key opinion leaders, institutions, and companies related to the event.
  • Maintain existing relationships and build new ones to develop conferences with relevant topics and speakers.
  • Explore additional add-ons and strategies for attracting more delegates, such as workshops, poster sessions, and partnerships with associations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Extensive proven experience (5-10 years) in conference production, with a specific focus on the technology or gaming sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully delivering conferences within large-scale events, including managing conference tracks and budgets.
  • A good understanding of and experience in the KSA market, ideally with exposure to government entities.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments by maintaining a solutions-focused mindset and delivering results under pressure.
  • A proven track record of enhancing processes and successfully implementing new initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.

The following skills and experiences are considered beneficial:

  • Experience working in a research-based role.
  • Sales experience, including creating proposals, pitching ideas, and closing proposals.
  • Journalism skills, including copywriting and editing.
