About the Role

FLSmidth is seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This role contributes to the company's mission of developing technology and know-how to enable customers in producing essential materials and technology for a sustainable future. The position is part of the Europe, Central Asia, North Africa, and Middle East regions PCV team, operating within a multinational organization.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide on-site technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for key industrial equipment, including Pumps, Cyclones, and Valves, primarily within the mining industry. The role requires a strong mechanical engineering background, a customer-centric approach, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support during equipment installation, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize equipment downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure long-term equipment performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering, Sales, and Project Management, to address complex technical issues.
  • Support the sales team by identifying aftersales opportunities and advising customers on new equipment needs.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all service activities, including repairs, upgrades, and customer interactions.
  • Perform safety checks, identify potential on-site risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical training to customers on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • A minimum of 1 year of field service experience, with a preference for experience in the mining or cement industries.
  • Hands-on experience with the maintenance, repair, and inspection of industrial equipment, specifically Pumps, Cyclones, and Valves, and ideally Knelson Concentrators.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical systems; knowledge of control/automation systems is considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety regulations and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in field environments.
  • Experience in technical report writing and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the region to support customer needs.
  • Possession of a valid passport and driver's license.
  • Ability to travel on short notice, including potential international travel.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours depending on project and site requirements.
