About the Role

SNC Environmental Consultancy, a firm based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist. This role is integral to supporting the company's delivery of environmental services and ensuring regulatory compliance across the Kingdom. The GIS Specialist will be responsible for managing geospatial data to support environmental permitting, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Management Plans (EMP/CEMP), and compliance audits.

This is a full-time position located in Dammam, with a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will collaborate with environmental consultants and project managers, contributing to the development of standardized GIS workflows and best practices to improve project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and manage geospatial data to support environmental permitting, EIA studies, Environmental Management Plans, and compliance audits.
• Create, maintain, and update maps, spatial databases, and GIS layers.
• Perform spatial analysis and data visualization to derive insights from geospatial information.
• Prepare clear and accurate GIS outputs for technical reports and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with environmental consultants and project managers to define GIS data requirements and ensure data quality.
• Contribute to the development of standardized GIS workflows, documentation, and best practices.
• Ensure project timelines for GIS-related tasks are met.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and working with geospatial data, particularly in environmental and regulatory projects.
• Demonstrated experience in data management, including organizing, cleaning, and maintaining spatial and tabular datasets.
• Proven ability to produce clear and accurate maps suitable for reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions.
• Strong analytical skills for performing spatial analysis, interpreting data, and solving problems within an environmental context.
• Proficiency with common GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS, and basic data visualization tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a project-based environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and safe work practices in field and office settings.
• A Bachelor's degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Geomatics, GIS, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
