About the Role
PepsiCo is seeking a Sr. Route Salesman to join their team in Makkah. This full-time position involves maximizing sales volume and ensuring high levels of customer service within an assigned territory. The role requires a proactive approach to sales, customer relationship management, and adherence to operational standards.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Sr. Route Salesman will be responsible for achieving sales targets, minimizing product stales, and ensuring the implementation of agreed merchandising standards. Key duties include selling the full range of PepsiCo products to an assigned customer list, maintaining customer stock levels to prevent out-of-stock situations, and ensuring timely delivery of orders. The role also involves collecting accounts receivable and providing market information to supervisors to identify new sales opportunities. Daily debriefing sessions with the supervisor are required to review customer visits and performance.
Key Duties and Tasks
- Sell the full range of products to an agreed list of customers, measured against previously agreed targets.
- Maintain customer satisfaction through approved service levels and adherence to daily route plans and call frequencies.
- Ensure customer orders are supplied on time with complete delivery arrangements.
- Maintain individual customer stock levels to minimize out-of-stock issues.
- Implement agreed in-store merchandising standards as communicated by the supervisor.
- Report competitor activity in the service area to the supervisor.
- Perform daily reconciliation of all cheques, cash, and credit sales.
- Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and presentation.
- Adhere to driving regulations and maintain a high standard of driving.
- Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks as per operating procedures, ensuring the vehicle is clean and roadworthy, and reporting any defects.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for this role should possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. The position requires 1 to 3 years of experience in sales and account building. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills, proficiency in conflict management, and capabilities in sales planning. Basic accounting skills are also necessary.
Performance Measurement
Performance will be measured against specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Consistent failure to meet the required results may lead to disciplinary action.
