About the Role
Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Restaurant Manager for its Riyadh location. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Role Overview
The Restaurant Manager will oversee daily operations for restaurant and bar areas, and room service where applicable. Responsibilities include assisting with menu planning, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting service staff during peak periods. The role focuses on enhancing guest and employee satisfaction while optimizing financial performance within the designated areas. This includes identifying training needs and implementing development plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all day-to-day restaurant and bar operations, including understanding employee roles to cover duties as needed.
- Maintain high standards of service and sanitation across all food and beverage outlets.
- Review staffing levels to ensure operational needs, guest service expectations, and financial objectives are met.
- Lead and motivate the food and beverage team, fostering trust, respect, and cooperation.
- Ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, including food handling and sanitation.
- Provide exceptional customer service by empowering employees and addressing guest concerns effectively.
- Manage service delivery from guest arrival to departure, ensuring a positive experience.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the department, including purchasing and invoice payments.
- Assist servers and hosts on the floor during busy periods.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience criteria:
- High school diploma or GED, plus 4 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
- A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, plus 2 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
Leadership and Human Resources
This role involves leading by example, identifying developmental needs of others, and implementing training programs. It requires establishing clear expectations for employees, fostering open communication, and ensuring fair and equitable treatment. The manager will solicit employee feedback, monitor satisfaction, and strive to improve employee retention and service performance.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role requires active participation in daily operations and direct interaction with guests and staff.
