Overview of the Sales Manager Role

The Sales Manager for Fire Protection Systems is responsible for achieving revenue targets by expanding the company's market presence and securing new opportunities. This role requires a strong technical understanding of various fire safety solutions, including fire alarm, fire suppression, firefighting, and life safety systems. The successful candidate will manage the entire sales cycle, from initial prospecting through to project completion, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to industry standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, residential, and government sectors.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with consultants, contractors, developers, facility managers, and end users.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive technical and commercial proposals for fire protection systems.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, estimation, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate quotations and successful project execution.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with customers.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and prepare regular sales forecasts and reports.
  • Ensure all activities comply with local fire codes, regulations, and relevant industry standards.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings.
  • Resolve customer concerns and provide after-sales support to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team, if applicable, to achieve departmental objectives.
