About the Role

ECEC East Consulting Engineering Company is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is essential for the planning, monitoring, and control of major projects within the region. The role requires a strong background in project scheduling, with a proven ability to manage complex timelines and mitigate risks. The Scheduler will collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including contractors, site engineers, and discipline leads, to ensure accurate progress reporting and effective communication of schedule-related information. This position will also support claims and delay analysis, ensuring project adherence to contractual obligations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and realistic activity sequencing.
  • Review and validate contractors’ baseline schedules to ensure they meet project specifications and are logically sequenced.
  • Prepare integrated master schedules for multi-disciplinary projects, identifying critical paths, near-critical paths, and potential schedule risks.
  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules, highlighting variances, delays, and potential risks to project management.
  • Collect and consolidate progress data from site supervision teams, contractors, and other stakeholders for accurate schedule updates.
  • Perform 'what-if' analysis, delay impact assessments, and forecast project completion dates based on current progress and potential issues.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress curves (S-curves), histograms, and performance dashboards.
  • Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly schedule reports, including key performance indicator (KPI) updates, performance analysis, and executive summaries.
  • Present findings on delays, constraints, and schedule deviations to project managers and clients, providing clear insights into project status.
  • Provide early warnings of potential schedule issues and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with site engineers, discipline leads, contractors, and consultants to obtain accurate and timely activity data.
  • Participate in progress meetings, technical meetings, and coordination sessions to ensure alignment on schedule objectives.
  • Communicate schedule requirements, changes, and critical issues clearly and effectively to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Support extension-of-time (EOT) evaluations, delay analysis reports, and forensic planning efforts.
  • Analyze the impact of variations, rework, and design changes on the overall project schedule.
  • Ensure all developed schedules comply with company standards, contract specifications, and client requirements.
  • Maintain consistent schedule coding, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) structures, and reporting formats across all projects.
  • Support internal audits and quality reviews related to project planning and controls processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field).
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in planning and scheduling, specifically within the construction supervision industry.
  • Demonstrated strong experience using Primavera P6 is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven background in planning and scheduling for infrastructure, buildings, industrial, or similar major construction projects.
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles, construction methodologies, and activity sequencing.
  • Experience with Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis methods, such as Time Impact Analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret project data and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder interaction and reporting.
  • Proficiency in report generation and presentation of complex scheduling information.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region, particularly with consultants or supervision firms, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as FIDIC, AACE, and PMI is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP, or PMI-SP are considered an advantage.
  • Arabic language skills are optional but beneficial.
