Join Astek as a Senior Data Engineer!
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer who is excited to design, build, and operate robust analytics pipelines for our clients. This role is critical in driving our clients' digital transformations through scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build extract, transform, load (ETL) and extract, load, transform (ELT) pipelines to move and transform data across platforms.
  • Model data for analytics and ensure it is clean, well-documented, and built to last.
  • Review and accept peer code, participate in code reviews for quality and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with analysts, clinicians, and business teams to translate needs into reliable data products.
  • Ensure production stability by investigating incidents, addressing root causes, and enhancing observability.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and the ability to write, tune, and debug Spark jobs in production.
  • Experience with data build tools, managing projects of meaningful size, writing tests, and handling complex dependency management.
  • Strong data modeling skills, including dimensional modeling and normalization vs denormalization trade-offs.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English; Arabic fluency is essential.

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with Databricks and healthcare data.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Familiarity with open table formats like Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, and Hudi.
  • Experience with data cataloging and discovery tools.
