About the Role

Saudi Global Ports is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Executive to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an opportunity for individuals with 0-1 years of experience to develop their careers within the commercial department of a leading port operator. The Commercial Executive will support the Commercial Manager by coordinating with various departments to resolve contractual and commercial issues, manage claims, and maintain strong relationships with business partners. This role requires proactive engagement with shippers, consignees, brokers, transporters, and insurance companies to ensure smooth operations and effective claim resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Manager in coordinating and resolving contractual and commercial issues and claims with various internal and external departments.
• Maintain and foster strong relationships with business partners, including shippers, consignees, brokers, transporters, and insurance companies.
• Organize, plan, and implement commercial strategies effectively.
• Manage projects, understanding the importance of delegation and effective task assignment.
• Supervise and distribute work among internal and external departments.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly work plans of employees to ensure productivity and adherence to schedules.
• Follow up on instructions and directives on a daily basis.
• Document claims statistics and coordinate with lines, brokers, and transporters under the supervision of senior officers and assistant managers.
• Take accountability for job responsibilities and strive to achieve set goals.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures as required.
• Follow up on claims and complaints, providing weekly and monthly updates to management.
• Manage government relations and liaise with authorities, providing daily updates to management on relevant social and regulatory matters.
• Maintain and leverage a strong social network, monitoring relevant platforms closely.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or an Associate degree.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the industry is preferred.
• Must possess a commercial and social network.
• Good operational experience is required.
• Must have good relations and a network within local industries.
• Local social involvement is considered beneficial for the company.
• Good command of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/Workflows.
• Good experience in customer care.
• Must understand the local working culture and have good relations in the local market.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
• Mandarin language proficiency is a required skill.
• Ability to drive a vehicle, demonstrating flexibility and a talent for negotiation.
• Fluent in speaking and writing English.
• Ability to recommend initiatives and lead employees effectively.
• Great attention to detail with a resolve to follow through on all tasks.
• Highly organized and capable of multitasking.
• Excellent team-player mindset with the ability to delegate jobs effectively.
• Skilled in conflict resolution with a strong customer service focus.
