About the Role

ChampionX, now part of SLB, is seeking a SHE Specialist I to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This role contributes to a global technology company focused on energy innovation. Employment will initially be with ChampionX and will transition to SLB as part of the planned integration. The SHE Specialist will be instrumental in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, upholding the company's commitment to sustainability, and driving continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety policies to maintain a safe workplace, supporting Goal Zero principles for continuous improvement in safety, health, environmental performance, security, design, development, manufacture, storage, marketing, distribution, use, and disposal of chemical products.
  • Drive a culture of safety through reporting safety observations and incidents.
  • Support and commit to the Quality Improvement Process, planning strategies for error-free work and conveying this attitude to drive continuous improvement.
  • Observe safety and quality procedures and the proper use of equipment and materials, focusing on improving SHE practices in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and ChampionX Safety, Health, and Environmental standards for Saudi Arabia.
  • Ensure timely completion of all government agency and corporate safety, health, and environmental reporting (*, ERP, Incident and Injury Management), and communicate with agencies and appropriate personnel.
  • Be responsible for the site's Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and support management in the Crisis Management Plan (CMP).
  • Manage the compliance of HSE training plans and programs, and deliver training as required by company policy, customer requirements, and regulatory bodies.
  • Understand the components of the SHEQ Management Systems and maintain accurate data in accordance with applicable record retention requirements.
  • Implement and maintain company SHEQ documents, adhering to local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Organize, lead, and conduct external/internal audits for Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Ensure compliance with requirements necessary to maintain the company's ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certification.
  • Ensure case management practices are communicated, implemented, and followed for work-related injuries and that reasonable accommodations are made to mitigate the aggravation of non-work-related injuries.
  • Lead the investigation of incidents and injuries, and prepare studies and analyses of industrial incident causes and health hazards.
  • Manage the inspection of regional facilities to detect existing or potential incident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented and completed.
  • Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Oversee the Industrial Hygiene program for ChampionX personnel.
  • Oversee the Contractor Qualification, Evaluation, and Safety Program.
  • Conduct and/or assist with risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Compile and analyze SHEQ statistics and incident reports, issuing monthly reports.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all matters.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 3 years of experience in the oil and gas or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in internal auditing and maintenance of ISO standards, documentation, and requirements.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in following Safety Policies and implementing Goal Zero principles.
