We are seeking to hire a competent Purchasing Manager to handle our client's procurement activities across multiple categories of spend. You will search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers. Our client is a leading Mining group based in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
- Manage daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks while maintaining the supplier database.
- Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
- Evaluate vendors to ensure performance is aligned with established specifications.
- Administer bidding processes and contracts, including preparing specifications, evaluating bids, and managing budgets.
- Research and evaluate vendors/contracts to ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Review and maintain good records of purchasing files and records to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Continually improve purchasing methods/processes and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external sources.
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
Qualifications
- BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent, or in a similar position.
- Deep knowledge of inventory, supervisory and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Experience working on ERP systems.
- Interest in market dynamics along with business sense.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for negotiation and networking.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership ability with a proven aptitude for training others.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately.
- Thorough understanding of business management principles, materials, and supplies used in the company.
