Position Summary:
MGIS is an International School with IB certification, where English is the language of instruction. The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a comprehensive physical education program according to the IB philosophy. This position emphasizes the development of each student’s physical health while incorporating social skills and leadership through organized and supervised activities and sports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging physical education lessons that align with the IB framework, promoting inquiry-based learning and the development of motor skills.
• Instruction: Teach physical education classes to students in the assigned grades using a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assessment: Assess student progress and performance through various methods, including observations, skill assessments, and self-reflection, providing constructive feedback to support student growth.
• Promote Physical Activity: Encourage lifelong fitness and healthy lifestyle choices through participation in a variety of sports, games, and physical activities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education with the overall IB curriculum, promoting interdisciplinary learning.
• Student Development: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional development of all students, promoting teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in physical education and IB teaching methodologies.
• Related Responsibilities: Actively participate in staff meetings, contribute to school events, engage in after-school clubs and extracurricular activities, and take on substitution and playground duties.
