Join Our Team as a Swimming Instructor!We are currently seeking a dedicated Swimming Instructor to lead learn-to-swim programs and provide exceptional customer service. This role includes various responsibilities to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:- Instruct group and private swimming lessons.
- Evaluate participant swimming abilities and determine appropriate swim levels.
- Create a safe and inviting experience for all participants.
- Discuss course evaluations with parents/guardians as needed.
- Meet all scheduled class times punctually and prepared for teaching.
- Attend all staff meetings and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Complete planning and paperwork associated with the classes.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned and complete incident reports as necessary.
Qualifications:- Degree-seeking student at UAB.
- Previous experience in swim instruction is preferred, or willingness to undergo training.
- Current American Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Ability to manage class participants and effectively communicate with parents/guardians.
- Knowledge of emergency response protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Demands:- Occasional bending, stooping, and lifting required.
- Ability to stand and walk for several hours.
