About the Role

Smit Lamnalco, a part of the Boskalis group, is seeking an AC Mechanic to join its team in Jīzān, Saudi Arabia. This role is essential for ensuring the optimal functioning, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems across the company's fleet of marine vessels. As an AC Mechanic, you will be instrumental in maintaining the comfort and operational efficiency of the vessels by ensuring all air conditioning systems are in proper working order. This position offers the opportunity for skill development within a leading international marine company.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air conditioning systems on various marine vessels.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot air conditioning system issues, identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions.
• Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential breakdowns.
• Monitor refrigerant levels, pressures, and temperature controls to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
• Assist with vessel equipment and machinery repairs when necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as an AC Mechanic, preferably in a marine or similar environment.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
• Strong technical knowledge of air conditioning systems, components, and refrigerants.
• Proficiency in proper refrigerant handling and disposal procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve complex AC system issues.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to AC maintenance in a marine environment.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces and challenging conditions.
• Willingness to travel at short notice across Saudi Arabia.

Work Schedule and Location

This is a full-time position based in Jazan, Saudi Arabia. The role operates on an 18-weeks-on, 9-weeks-off rotation. Smit Lamnalco offers opportunities for career development within a dynamic and international setting.
