In this role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a comprehensive physical education program that aligns with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:- Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging physical education lessons that align with the IB framework, promoting inquiry-based learning and the development of motor skills.
- Instruction: Teach physical education classes to students in the assigned grades using various instructional strategies and resources to address diverse learning needs.
- Assessment: Assess student progress and performance through various methods, including observations, skill assessments, and self-reflection, while providing constructive feedback to support growth.
- Promote Physical Activity: Encourage lifelong fitness and healthy lifestyle choices through participation in a variety of sports, games, and physical activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education with the overall IB curriculum, fostering interdisciplinary learning.
- Student Development: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional development of all students, promoting teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in physical education and IB teaching methodologies.
- Related Responsibilities: Actively participate in staff meetings, contribute to school events, engage in after-school clubs and extracurricular activities, and take on substitution and playground duties.
