About the Role
Al-Watania Poultry, the largest poultry company in the Middle East, is focused on achieving operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical / Electrical Technician to support our power generation operations. This role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of our diesel generators and their associated mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot diesel engine and generator issues with accuracy.
- Repair and/or replace damaged parts on diesel engines and generators.
- Remove, repair, and reinstall engine components.
- Perform complete overhauls of diesel engines and cylinder heads.
- Overhaul and repair lube oil pumps, water pumps, fuel pumps, and injectors.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks on diesel engines and generators.
- Diagnose and complete repairs at various site locations.
- Install, adjust, modify, and troubleshoot Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) systems and exciters.
- Install, adjust, modify, and troubleshoot generator and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) controllers, including brands like PCC, Deep Sea, and ComAp.
- Test current, voltage, and generator output to confirm proper operation.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new generators.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, inspections, and operational activities.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures and company standards.
- Provide support for emergency breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification in Power Generation, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Mechanic / Electrical Technician, Generator Technician, Diesel Engine Mechanic, or in a similar role.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience specifically in diesel generator maintenance and repair.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel up to 90% within company projects.
- Availability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in inspecting, diagnosing, and troubleshooting diesel engine and generator issues.
- Expertise in repairing and replacing damaged parts on diesel engines and generators.
- Skilled in removing, repairing, and reinstalling engine components.
- Capability to perform complete overhauls of diesel engines and cylinder heads.
- Experience in overhauling and repairing lube oil pumps, water pumps, fuel pumps, and injectors.
- Competence in performing preventive maintenance on diesel engines and generators.
- Ability to diagnose and complete repairs at site locations.
- Experience with installing, adjusting, modifying, and troubleshooting AVR systems and exciters.
- Proficiency in installing, adjusting, modifying, and troubleshooting generator and ATS controllers.
- Ability to safely test current, voltage, and generator performance.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, generators, mechanical components, and AC/DC electrical systems.
- Capability to diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical faults independently.
- Experience with equipment and machinery commonly used in power plants.
- Excellent ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Capacity to understand and follow written procedures, technical manuals, and electrical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and company standards.
- Experience with Caterpillar and Cummins generators is preferred.
- Skills in Power Generation, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines.
- Strong communication skills.
Work Environment and Location
This is a full-time position based in Al Qasim, Saudi Arabia. The role requires a willingness to travel up to 90% within company projects and may involve working overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
