Role overview
The Arabic Teacher will deliver high-quality Arabic language instruction to both native and non-native speakers, often within multigrade classes where students of different ages, stages, and language profiles may learn together. In the lower years, native and non-native Arabic speakers will be taught in the same class, requiring strong differentiation skills and flexible planning. In older years, classes may be separated by language profile depending on student numbers, though combined classes may still be required.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Arabic lessons for native and non-native speakers across a range of ages and abilities
  • Differentiate effectively within multigrade classes to ensure age and grade-level objectives are met
  • Develop parallel or differentiated planning where native and non-native learners are taught within the same class
  • Align Arabic teaching with Saudi national requirements while embedding IB approaches to teaching and learning
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, including homeroom teachers
  • Contribute flexibly to the wider life of the school as needs evolve

Profiles we are recruiting for
This is a joint recruitment process for two Arabic teaching roles. Final allocation will depend on student numbers and school needs. Candidates are asked to indicate their preference, strongest experience area, and willingness to do each role.

Profile 1 – Older students (PYP/MYP focus)
Students aged approximately 7–16
Predominant focus on native Arabic speakers in the PYP from Grade 2 upwards
MYP Language & Literature classes for native speakers and Language Acquisition classes for non-native Arabic speakers

Profile 2 – Early Years and Primary
Students aged approximately 1–11
Combined native and non-native Arabic up to age 6
Nonnative Arabic for ages 7–11
Requires a warm, playful, and nurturing approach with younger children

Due to cultural expectations, a female profile is preferred for this role

  • Native-level Arabic proficiency, with a high level of English highly valued for school communication
  • Ability to teach both native and non-native Arabic speakers
  • Strong experience or confidence working in multigrade classrooms
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing class structures and student numbers
  • Willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities in a startup school environment
