About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Cost Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience to support cost control, budgeting, and commercial activities within an active construction project. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Commercial & Contract Department to ensure accurate project costing, effective cost monitoring, and compliance with contractual and financial requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing, monitoring, and controlling the project budget and cost plans.
  • Track and analyze project expenditures, commitments, and cost variances.
  • Prepare periodic cost reports, financial forecasts, and updates for management.
  • Review and verify contractor invoices, variations, and change requests.
  • Support the preparation of BOQs, cost estimates, and cost breakdown structures (CBS).
  • Coordinate with the planning team to align cost performance with the project schedule.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost data and project documentation.
  • Assist in tender evaluations, commercial comparisons, and procurement cost assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, financial, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, site teams, and quantity surveyors to validate on-site progress.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost engineering, cost control, or commercial support within the construction industry. Experience working on active construction sites is preferred. Strong understanding of cost analysis, budgeting, BOQs, and progress measurement is essential.

Skills
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Good understanding of cost control methodologies and project financials.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and cost-related software/tools.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with contracting companies in Saudi Arabia. Knowledge of cost engineering software such as Primavera, Candy, CostX, or similar is advantageous. Experience in tendering, commercial evaluations, and variation assessments is preferred. Understanding of contract forms such as FIDIC or equivalent.
