Hitachi Rail is seeking a Saudi National Installation & Maintenance Technician to join its team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to the successful deployment and ongoing support of advanced transportation systems. You will contribute to projects focused on digital transformation and technology within the region, working as part of a diverse and innovative global organization.

Role Objective

The primary objective of this position is to prepare and execute the installation of delivered equipment and systems. You will be responsible for performing Level 1 preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and will also support engineers with Level 2 and Level 3 maintenance tasks. This role requires a willingness to work during weekends and holidays to ensure operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute the installation of delivered equipment and systems.
  • Execute Level 1 preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Support engineers with Level 2 and Level 3 preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Perform site surveys and contribute to Site Readiness Reviews.
  • Verify that assigned work aligns with customer requirements and installation schedules.
  • Participate effectively in customer equipment installation, configuration, unit testing, verification, and preparation for operation.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Promptly inform the Installation Engineer of any issues with installation and testing activities.
  • Record test activity results in measurement sheets and prepare suitable reports.
  • Provide technical support to customer, Thales, or subcontractor teams for installation-related issues.
  • Assist with Post Installation Check Out (PICO) and tests and commissioning activities as required, in coordination with involved teams.
  • Contribute to the activities of Thales technical specialists for integration testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning testing when needed.
  • Ensure the quality, security, and suitability of all work performed.
  • Perform calibration of test and measurement equipment.
  • Provide daily reporting on identified system operational issues and create PCRs (Problem Change Requests).
  • Monitor systems using various monitoring tools and report any deviations or defects.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in the installation and maintenance of Transportation Security systems, including Communication and Signaling Systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in performing basic configurations and knowledge of System configurations.
  • Capability to calibrate and use electronic tools for installation activities.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Skill in preparing technical reports.
  • A Diploma in Electronic or Communications is mandatory and must be certified by the Saudi Engineering Council (SEC).

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associate degree in biomedical engineering, electronic engineering, or an equivalent degree.
  • Valid registration with the Saudi Engineering Council.
