Job Purpose
To develop and lead the team of Area Managers and effectively manage the Retail Sales business (along with supporting retail development) of respective market to drive retail sales revenue and profitability and to ensure optimal level of customer services and achievement of functional objectives, in line with company and EHSS standards.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES
  • Set individual targets, based on retail market trends, trade area and historical sales data.
  • Monitor Sales on a periodic basis and drive alignment to overall objectives, as required.
  • Monitor team performance against set objectives and drive improvements, as required.
  • Ensure site’s lease agreements are renewed/updated on regular basis, thus maintaining smooth business operations.
  • Develop site-wise business plans to optimize profitability and revenues.
  • Properly instil EHSS policies in all the network and especially the team.
  • Update Market surveys to understand the market.
  • Meet the competition and gain a good knowledge about market leaders in a trading area.
  • Develop Concept Proposals to ensure the company makes inroads at the right time and at the right places in the assigned region.
  • Review and take appropriate action on inspections, reconciliations and reports submitted by Area managers to improve the management of the network.
  • Review and supervise the periodic presentations of the sales team and guide them to take appropriate actions in liaison with concerned departments whenever necessary.
  • Guide and enable the team to maintain standards at the retail network including Accurate Quality, Quantity and Pricing at the network, Customer service standards.
  • Develop Petromin brand as the customer’s preferred choice by successfully running corporate designed campaigns, celebrating Customer Service Days, developing initiatives taking the retailers on board and activation and development of NFR facilities.

EXPECTED END RESULTS
  • Drive achievement of Fuel and CA sale at retail outlets and manage the team of territory managers to enhance sales potential, thus maximizing profitability and revenues.
  • Ensure compliance of Petromin policies and procedures for effective management of retail sales business in the assigned region.
  • Retail Business Identification and Network development.
  • Retail Sales Planning, Team Monitoring and Reporting.
  • Ensuring Petromin Standards implementation at the network.
  • Marketing activities, Initiative and Inter department liaison.

Major Challenges
To effectively manage the retail network amidst stiff competition, in the face of regulatory restrictions, through building strong relationships. To effectively achieve sales targets, with limited capex, limited storage capacity and demand surge issues, through astute forecast planning.
