Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate 15-ton roller compactors (tandem or single-drum) to achieve specified compaction targets.
  • Perform pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance, reporting any equipment issues.
  • Monitor engine gauges, temperature, and hydraulic systems; adjust controls for proper compaction.
  • Follow project plans, compaction specs, and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work area, minimize disruption to other crews, and ensure road and site safety.
  • Record daily production, maintenance, and safety observations; notify supervisors of deviations.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down staging areas, and coordinate with nearby crews.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating 15-ton roller compactors on construction sites.
  • Valid operator certification or license as required by local regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of compaction techniques for soil and asphalt applications.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards (*, PPE, hazard assessments, lockout/tagout where applicable).
  • Ability to read and follow plans, specifications, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Good communication skills, reliable, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive motions, lift and maneuver accessories, and work outdoors in varying weather.
