Job Summary
The procurement specialist is responsible for securing, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality food products, kitchen supplies, and services at the best possible value to ensure smooth operations in catering services. This position requires in-depth knowledge of the food supply market, supplier management, and compliance with food safety standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers of food products and kitchen supplies to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Market Research: Conduct regular market research to ensure competitive pricing and availability of essential ingredients, adjusting purchasing strategies as needed.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms with vendors to achieve optimal value while maintaining product quality.
  • Timely Purchases: Ensure timely purchasing and delivery of goods to meet kitchen production schedules.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Monitor inventory levels in coordination with the warehouse and kitchen team to prevent stock shortages or excess.
  • Collaboration with Kitchen Staff: Work closely with chefs to understand product requirements and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with current suppliers and develop new supplier networks.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all purchased items meet health regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Department Requests: Manage and fulfill purchase requests from various departments quickly and efficiently.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4-9 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the food and catering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food products, perishables, and kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
