Supervisor for Maintenance of Steel Structure  

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise steel construction, erection, fabrication, and painting activities on site.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments for welders, fabricators, painters, and helpers.
  • Monitor surface preparation activities including blasting, grinding, and cleaning.
  • Ensure proper application of primers, epoxy, polyurethane, and protective coatings.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work procedures.
  • Inspect steel structures and painting works to ensure quality compliance.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors, engineers, and project management teams.
  • Ensure all safety regulations and PPE requirements are strictly followed.
  • Monitor material usage, equipment condition, and manpower productivity.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and maintain project documentation.
  • Resolve site issues related to steel construction and coating activities.
  • Ensure project completion within schedule and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Civil, Welding, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in steel construction and industrial painting works.
  • Previous supervisory experience in construction, refinery, or fabrication industries.
  • Knowledge of steel erection, welding, blasting, and painting procedures.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and QA/QC procedures.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with structural steel projects and protective coating systems.
  • Familiarity with coating inspection standards and welding practices.
  • Ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple site activities.
  • Computer knowledge for reporting and documentation.
