About the Role
Dallah Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing high-quality radiological services to patients by performing examinations with technical proficiency and independent judgment. The role is integral to ensuring accurate diagnostic imaging and upholding the standard of patient care within Dallah Hospital.
The Ultrasound Technologist will execute radiological procedures to the highest attainable standard, operating with autonomy and initiative. This position requires assuming responsibility for designated areas or procedures as scheduled, ensuring efficient workflow and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Select and operate appropriate ultrasound equipment for each examination.
- Position patients correctly according to the specific requirements of each requested examination.
- Determine and select appropriate technical factors for each patient to ensure optimal image quality.
- Produce diagnostic ultrasound images of acceptable technical quality.
- Adhere to all radiation protection and safety regulations, employing suitable working practices.
- Maintain a professional attitude and conduct, conforming to all ethical standards.
- Ensure examination rooms are consistently clean and prepared for patient use.
- Report any equipment malfunctions promptly to the Chief Technician or their designee.
- Assist in the emergency treatment of patients as needed.
- Observe and comply with all infection control standards outlined in policy documents, particularly concerning sterile procedures.
- Administer oral, rectal, and parenteral contrast media, including intravenous contrast media, under the direction and supervision of a radiologist.
- Implement and coordinate policies and procedures to align with the hospital's goals and objectives, focusing on Standards of Care and Quality/Performance Improvement.
- Participate in patient and family education to enhance their understanding and involvement in their care, enabling informed decision-making.
- Perform any other duties within the scope of professional knowledge and skills as directed by the Chief Radiology Technician and/or Head of Radiology.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of two years of post-graduate/diploma practice in an acute care facility is essential.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institute/college is required.
- Practical experience in Ultrasound for at least one year in an acute care facility is desirable.
- Previous working experience in healthcare facilities within the Middle East is desirable.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in speaking and reading both English and Arabic is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required for effective communication and patient interaction.
