Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct independent scopes of work and technical specifications for Civil/Structural design and field investigations on large-sized projects or assignments in support of a global business unit.
  • Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processes, utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
  • Review and approve key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the assigned project.
  • Design structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering.
  • Determine the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure the correct material is used based on load or stress requirements.
  • Originate and check complex Civil/Structural engineering deliverables, including steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
  • Develop conceptual designs for Civil/Structural engineering projects or projects with specialized or unique requirements.
  • Interview client personnel to determine their needs, develop scopes for cost estimates, and participate in proposal preparation and presentation.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and support implementation and assist with performance reporting.
  • Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.

Qualifications and Experience

This role requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) combined with 13-15 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates with 17-19 years of relevant work experience will be considered.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supervising and managing customer designers and contractors in the design delivery of infrastructure electrical systems. This includes high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) power supplies, substations, switchgear, motor control centers, earthing and bonding systems, lightning protection, and standby power systems. Qualifications and Experience
