About the Role
Nahdi Medical Company is looking for a specialized Laboratory Technologies Specialist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role aims to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory by performing a wide range of routine clinical laboratory tests and contributing to essential laboratory functions such as information processing, training, and quality control. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in various laboratory disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology, coagulation, and emerging fields such as molecular diagnostics.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Receiving blood and body fluid samples in the laboratory reception and initiating preliminary processing of these samples.
- Performing daily tests on laboratory equipment to ensure its safety and proper operation.
- Executing all analytical processes using automated instruments for hematology, biochemistry, serology, and hormone analysis.
- Performing daily quality control tests for reagents to ensure the accuracy and reliability of results.
- Analyzing blood cells by counting and identifying them using microscopy techniques and established procedures.
- Preparing and examining urine and stool samples under a microscope.
- Managing laboratory supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels, forecasting needs, and placing orders for supplies, as well as verifying their receipt.
- Maintaining laboratory resources through efficient use of equipment and supplies to achieve optimal work results.
- Immediately reporting critical test results to medical staff.
- Preparing reports detailing technological results by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
- Maintaining updated professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Ensuring a safe and clean work environment by strictly adhering to all laboratory procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protecting patients and staff by adhering to infection control protocols and hazardous waste management policies and procedures.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality by protecting sensitive information in accordance with hospital policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Medical Sciences with a specialization in the Laboratory Department.
- At least two years of practical experience in a laboratory setting after graduation.
- Proficiency in using Office applications and health information systems.
- Fluency in speaking and writing in both English and Arabic.
Core Skills
- Experience in performing routine laboratory tests across hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology, and coagulation.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory skills applied in emerging fields such as molecular diagnostics.
- Proficiency in information processing, training, and quality control within the laboratory environment.
- Skills in equipment maintenance and inventory management.
- Ability to prepare accurate reports on technological results.
- Strong understanding and application of infection control principles.
- Commitment to maintaining patient and company information confidentiality.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The work environment is 100% indoors. The standard work schedule is 6 working days per week with one day off. Working hours are 8 net hours per day, subject to shift schedules approved by the department head.
