Job Overview:The Sterilization Technician plays a crucial role in providing safe and sterile medical instruments and equipment for patient care. Under the direction of the CSSD Head, the technician is responsible for processing reusable items through decontamination, sterilizing, and distribution procedures.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:- Ensure client-centered practice, fostering a positive image of the nursing team and the hospital.
- Collect contaminated instruments from all hospital areas and perform decontamination procedures.
- Inspect and clean surgical instruments, preparing them for safe use.
- Assemble and package instrument sets using established guidelines.
- Monitor sterilization processes and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining effective communication.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
Qualifications:A minimum of two years of experience in ***** within an acute care setting, along with certification in CSSD specialty from a recognized organization. Proficient in English with excellent communication skills.
